Lunch Lecture: Moneybird

Moneybird is SaaS bookkeeping software targeted towards small to medium sized businesses. Every month, entrepreneurs login half a million times to update their financial data and get insights. Securing the accounts of these entrepreneus is essential, since these accounts allow someone to access sensitive financial data and company information. Moneybird therefore offers different options to entrepreneurs to protect their account, like two-step-verification using TOTP codes or passkeys. However, each of these options require the entrepreneur to setup these additional protection measures. Not every entrepreneur is security conscious and might therefore be unaware of the dangers of an unprotected account. In a world where hackers continuously try to get access to improperly secured accounts, how do we ensure that our entrepreneurs are protected? During this lunch lecture, we will explain the measures Moneybird took to protected the entrepreneurs that might not have protected themselves enough. Furthermore, we discuss the way Moneybird uses suspicious login attempts to block malicious users.

There will be free lunch at the lecture, including vegan and gluten-free options.

Please bring your own cup for coffee or tea!
