Tour

The places we will visit

Study Tour MISC will probably leave September 25th 2016, for about three weeks in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The tour will start in Singapore, the trading hub of Southeast Asia. After having seen the Southern part of Peninsular Malaysia, the tour is continued to Kuala Lumpur. After about a week, the Study Tour MISC will fly for Indonesia, starting with Bandung and ending in Jakarta.

During the study tour we will visit a great number of universities, companies and other institutions, where we will try to verify our research results. This research will be done in the months preceding the tour itself. We research both the theme and the culture of the countries. Have a look to see what our theme Intelligent & Secure Cities is about and go to our page about company visits if you want to know whether your company could provide an interesting visit. Indonesia's nature of business

Since Indonesia initially declared independence in 1945, the city has experienced rapid development and urbanisation, transforming Bandung from an idyllic town into a dense 16,500 people/km2 metropolitan area, a living space for over 2.5 million people. Natural resources have been exploited excessively, particularly by conversion of protected upland area into highland villas and real estate. Although the city has encountered many problems (ranging from waste disposal, floods to complicated traffic system, etc.), Bandung still attracts large numbers of tourists, immigrants and weekend travelers.
