Lunch lecture Witteveen+Bos
Engineering firms have a huge impact on society projects in the areas of clean water, energy, mobility, urban planning, etc. Digitization is, therefore, a focal point. And that goes well: bridges are automatically designed and printed in 3D and for road projects, local residents can design a sound barrier in VR and AR. There is still a lot to be gained: many analyzes are still done manually in Excel, IoT is used to a limited extent and technical drawings are sometimes partly made by hand.
Wouter Klein Wolterink is an alumnus of Inter-Actief and now works at Witteveen + Bos. He will show you what it means to work at an engineering firm, what is so great about it, and why the digital transformation of the engineering industry cannot do without IT people. As an example case, we look at the design of a sewage treatment plant and the challenge of having six different disciplines work together.
