‘Look after your friend’-training deel 2/2
Your time as a student can be a lot of fun, but it can also be challenging sometimes. If things are not going so well for you, chances are great you will talk to your friends about it before talking to anyone else. However, as a friend, this might sometimes be difficult and raise a lot of questions: ‘How can I help my friend without letting it affect me too much?’, ‘How can I listen to someone in a way that makes them feel heard?’, ‘What does a certain diagnosis actually mean?’, and many more. To help you out with these types of questions and struggles, the psychologists of the UT have developed a training in collaboration with the Student Union. In this training, given by two student trainers, several topics will be discussed:
- Practical tips on looking after your friend
- Supporting a friend through the student journey
- Understanding your friend’s diagnosis
- Knowing your services: getting professional help in- and outside of the UT
You will be asked to do a short preparation beforehand and you will also receive a guide containing extensive information on the topic. Both sessions are complementary, so participants are expected to be there for both sessions!
Do you want to know more about the content of the training? Check out the Canvas page, containing more information. If you cannot make it to this training, enrolling on the canvas page will also keep you updated for upcoming trainings. Enrolling on this page is without obligation, so feel free to check it out!
