Will you be the next board? »
Have you ever thought about getting involved in bigger activism than a committee? Would you like to spend a year managing an association?
Then a board year might be just the thing for you! In a board year, you work on many different things and your activities are incredibly diverse. Think, for example, of meetings with the faculty, helping members, forming committees, and much more! This makes a board year a super educational year in which you work hard on multiple skills such as time management, collaboration skills, and independence.
If you want to study alongside your board year, that is certainly possible! In a part-time board year, you can choose how much time you want to spend on your studies and how much on the board. If you would like more information about this, please send an email to board@inter-actief.net!
Would you like to know more about the details of a board year? Come to the board interest drink on March 22 at Abscint. Here, you will receive more information about the positions you can take within a board and about the general activities of a board member.
Are you interested and would you like to become a candidate board member? Send an email (without obligation) to board@inter-actief.net. The board will then invite you for an interview. The interview is intended to allow us to get to know you better, and it gives you the opportunity to show us why you would like to become a board member of Inter-Actief. The deadline for applications is March 24.

Winners IDEA »
And this year's winners are... Rom Langerak (CS) and Martijn Koot (BIT), congratulations!
After an exciting three weeks of nominations and voting, the winners were finally revealed at the Café IT & IDEA drink. Many students and lecturers came to see if their favorite teacher or colleague would win. The three finalists were Doina Bucur, Pieter-Tjerk de Boer, and Rom Langerak for TCS, and Martijn Koot, Nacir Bouali, and Wallace Corbo Ugulino for BIT. They all received a small token of appreciation for making it to the top three, and the winners received a beautiful bouquet.
The winners will now go on to compete for the university-wide Teacher of the Year Award (TOTYA). We'll likely see them there in April or June. For now, we hope they thoroughly enjoy their well-deserved IDEA victory, and we thank everyone who nominated and voted.

Advent of Code »
Christmas is in danger, and Santa Claus needs your help to save it!
Luckily for us, we can save Christmas with programming. This year, the Advent of Code will take place again, and you can compete against others at the Inter-Actief leaderboard. If you want to participate, you can go to adventofcode.com and join our leaderboard using this code: 212892-f117de9e. You can also join our Whatsapp group to discuss the exercises: ictsv.nl/aoc.
What is the Advent of Code?
The Advent of Code is an advent calendar, but with programming excercises as gifts. Each day, a new task will open up, which you can solve. The problems can be part from different fields of computer science, but they are still doable even for novice programmers. So even if you just started programming, or if you are an experienced veteran programmer, there is something to enjoy for everyone.

Announcement passing Karel de Jonge »
With pain in our hearts, we inform you that the beloved Karel de Jonge has passed away at the age of 88, on Saturday, the 5th of July.
With pain in our hearts, we inform you that the beloved Karel de Jonge has passed away at the age of 88, on Saturday, the 5th of July. Karel had worked at the University of Twente for over forty years and was appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his efforts in and around the University. Karel was the director of education of the computer science programme when Inter-Actief was founded, which is why he earned the title of honorary member within the association. Karel still went to dine with the board every year, together with the rest of the honorary members, with immense pleasure. We will miss Karel greatly, and we would like to remember what he meant to the association one more time. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. On behalf of the Board of Inter-Actief.

Accreditation (T)CS - Student Chapter »
Every 6 years institutions of higher education have to demonstrate their quality of education. Our programme will be evaluated coming December.
This shows that their programmes are academically and professionally up to standard. Without this accreditation programmes are not allowed to issue recognized diplomas.
The majority of this is handled by an external visitation committee and the program bodies. They have to write a self-evaluation report, containing their vision, goals, evaluation results, and planned and implemented improvements. However, since 2016 students are also actively involved in this process by writing a student chapter, and we need your help with that!
The student chapter will have to reflect the opinions and experiences from students across the entire program, which is why we want to give you a chance to have your voice be hear and give your opinion. We would like to ask you to fill in the following survey to give your opinion and help us write the student chapter: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/QJQVA84fjv
Additionally, there will be a physical discussion session tomorrow the 18th of June, at 12:45 in RA 4110. If you would like to share your opinion in person, we would also love to see you there!
